Do you think your child, or you yourself, may have an attention deficit? An assessment by a specialist health professional is the right step. However, you may run into extremely long waiting times.
More and more children have attention problems, and the few specialists there are have very full diaries.
What's more, many disorders can look like ADHD. A child who finds it hard to stay focused, to keep still or to manage their emotions does not necessarily have ADHD.
We have a quick and effective solution
Our listening assessment, combined with a standardised psychometric rating scale (VADRS or CADDRA), allows us to carry out an initial screening. If the screening is positive, we will arrange an appointment for an assessment with a specialist health professional.
Beware of false positives
It is important to understand that many disorders, such as problems with sensory integration, body schema, emotional regulation or auditory processing, can be mistaken for typical ADHD symptoms when they are present.
Thanks to our combination of listening assessment and psychometric scale, we will be able to spot these similar disorders and so rule out false positives.
We can then put together a personalised training programme to address these particular disorders. The Tomatis method, combined with training on the Giger MD device, has a positive and lasting effect on:
Learning and concentration: quality and duration, interest, attention and relevance.
Behaviour: emotional regulation, social skills, self-assurance, assertiveness and self-confidence.
Sensory integration and body schema: better posture and coordination.
And as a bonus, language: understanding, communication, reading, writing, grammar, spelling and vocabulary.
Waiting times and availability
The waiting time for a screening is just a few days. The full training programme runs over 4 to 5 months, combining listening at home with neurosensory training at the centre once or twice a week.
If needed, a written report can be prepared for a school or a doctor. The report costs CHF 40.
