Public speaking
For teenagers and adults
The quality of your voice, including its tone, pitch and overall sound, depends not only on your training but also on your ability to hear. If you find it hard to speak in public, you might think of taking a drama, improvisation or voice class, but these steps are not always enough to give you the clarity and self-confidence you want. The Tomatis® method tackles this problem by working on both the reception and the production of sound, offering complete audio-vocal training that has a real effect on communication.

The tone, placement and quality of your voice depend not only on your training but above all on the way you listen.
When we find it hard to speak in public, we often think of taking a drama, improvisation or singing class. It's a step, but it is often not enough to achieve results, either in the clarity of the voice or in self-confidence. Here's why.
According to A. Tomatis, who created the method, the voice contains only what the ear hears
When listening is disturbed, it is impossible to use your voice as a real tool for communication, because you lack control over its different prosodic elements: intonation, inflection, rhythm and intensity. The person you are speaking to will then hear your voice as aggressive, cold, or lacking any expressive power.
Distorted listening can also lead to a reduced desire to listen, which in turn reduces the desire to communicate. It is important to note that listening well does not necessarily mean hearing well. Listening is marked by a real intention to communicate, and by the quality of how the sound message received is perceived and interpreted. It is measured by how well our hearing works, not by how sensitive it is.
That is why the Tomatis method, by working on both the reception and the production of sound, offers complete audio-vocal training that has a real effect on communication.
How does it work?
The Tomatis® method for developing your voice and self-confidence is based on two to three musical listening sessions, combined with active work on the audio-vocal loop. Each listening session lasts 13 days, with 2 hours of listening a day. The last session includes speaking work, using a microphone and specific music. The sessions take place at home, with the TalksUp® device, specially programmed for your personal difficulty. For more information, click here.
From the very first session, I noticed a real change in the way I placed my voice. Before, it would “go off the rails” as soon as I was a little stressed: with people outside my close circle, and above all when there were lots of people. Today, my voice has calmed down. I feel confident speaking in public, which I would never have imagined... especially at 55.
